Before you head out on your quest for a wind turbine for your home, its imperative to make sure using a windmill for electricity is feasible at your home.

Since you are thinking about wind power generation, I will assume your location is windy enough.
But, it is best to make sure with some research that a small residential wind turbine will get enough wind at your location.
Enter the Wind Meter – it should be your best friend and it will tell you if your Wind Generator Kit is worth the investment. Will your Windmill actually produce enough electricity.
The bad news is that a Wind Turbine will only work when your AVERAGE wind Speed is above 9 mph.
